The hype on BB Creams...
First of all, I apologize because its been a week since I created this blog and counting that- this would be my second post.
I decided to do my very first review on beauty products:  I have been hearing about BB Creams for some time now. So, I decided to go on a little adventure and did a bit of a research on where I can find a store closest to where I live.  I was fortunate to find B & B, Beauties and the Beauty Shop in San Francisco. Minutes away from me, literally right next door. Excited, I ventured out on this little trip.
My first impression of the store was that it was very inviting. Simple, clean and most important customer service was excellent. I was greeted right away by Jenny. She was very helpful and  answered my questions and concerns. I mentioned my blog to her and ask if I could take a few photos. She was more than happy to obliged and even offer to help. So, thanks Jenny for the wonderful experience and for all the help.
What is BB Cream. BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream. Prescribed by dermatologist, as a post operative treatment to patients undergoing laser surgery.  Korean actresses began using this product  because of its benefits and healing properties and due to the popularity of K-dramas BB Cream crazed was born spreading to Japan part of Asia and now working its way throughout the globe.
My testimonial: I've been using this BB cream for a week now. I went for the smaller bottle just because I wanted to try it out.  This little baby cost $18 (bigger bottle was $30).  Jenny suggested I used Skin79 since I have a dry/oily combination skin.(esp. T-Zone area)
... more than just your average tinted moisturizer, these babies have triple functions. Yes, that's right! It has whitening, UV Protectant SPF 25, wrinkle free... no wonder people are going gaga over this stuff.

 Pros:
  • comes in a very hygienic bottle and one pump is all you need. A pea size amount to be exact.
  • No tools needed: just clean fingers  and spread all over your face (foundation brush is optional if you want a more airbrush effect).
  • nice scent
  • dries quickly and leaves a soft finish on your skin.
Cons:
  • comes in only one shade, so I used my Bare Essentials powder to go over it.
  • thick consistency, so melt it in your fingers.
Overall, it isn't so bad. I'm actually getting attached to it and incorporated it in my daily routine. Of course, there are also plenty of BB Creams from different brands out there so, do shop around and find what's best for you. I plan to make another trip to B & B shop and get the Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream.

Also I bought a few face mask. ( always wanted to try these from watching my K-dramas.) 2 are by Misha: Aloe & Caviar. Both are great for moisturizing. Been sleeping late lately and that has definitely taken a tole on my skin. I really love the Caviar. After using it Ifelt my face was softer. Both smells nice. For those who are planing on trying face mask, I recommend using it prior to sleeping. Leaving it on your face will definitely be more beneficial. The other one is by The Face Shop: Hyaluronic Acid. Haven't use this last one yet.( Jenny told me to use this last.)
No need to be alarmed! I know there's the word acid connected  with Hyaluronic Acid... it is often misjudged, but this ingredient  is very beneficial to the skin. It will leave your skin moisturized and glowing.  It is said to be non toxic, non irritating and non sensitizing, best of all its great for all skin types.

Free Samples Jenny, gave me.

my entire haul

All the walking around did exhaust me a bit and I needed to recharge. I saw this Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant from driving around earlier. I actually asked Jenny and she recommended I try out their Five Spice Chicken...but I'm saving that for my next post. Stay tuned!...
